Qarz Daftar — debt and instalment tracking with automatic SMS and calls to debtors

The problem: selling on credit in a paper notebook

In many shops and market stalls across Uzbekistan, credit sales are still written down in a paper notebook. The consequences are familiar: the notebook gets lost, the handwriting can't be read, arguments start over who owes what, and overdue debts are simply forgotten.

The Qarz Daftar project started with exactly that problem. Today it is no longer just a debt notebook but a full accounting system for a retail outlet.

The solution: an accounting system in your pocket

The app is built with native technologies for iOS and Android, and there is a web cabinet in the browser as well — one account, three platforms. Data is kept in the cloud, and records made offline sync automatically as soon as the connection is back.

The owner keeps track of customers and debts, invites cashiers and gets a notification about every entry they make. The PRO subscription adds a cash register, stock, an instalment schedule and employee accounting on top of that.

New: automatic SMS and calls to debtors

The biggest update in the project is that reminders are no longer sent by hand.

• SMS reminders. A scheduler on the server checks the debts every day and sends the customer an SMS on the schedule the owner has set: the name and the amount are inserted into the text automatically.
• Phone calls. A second channel for when SMS goes unread: the app calls the debtor itself and delivers the reminder by voice. The outcome of the call — whether the customer answered and how long it lasted — is pulled in automatically later.
• Per-customer settings: reminders can be switched off for a regular customer and set to a tighter schedule for a problematic one.
• A full report: who received an SMS and when, and who was called — all of it stays in the history.
• Both channels are connected as separate packages; the used and remaining limits are visible in the app.

What the app can do

In the free tier:

• customer and debt tracking, due dates and an "Overdue" section;
• folders for customers, pinning the important ones to the top, adding from phone contacts;
• search that understands both Cyrillic and Latin input; sorting by name, amount and date;
• two currencies — som and dollar — with separate balances;
• photos attached to a debt (receipt, IOU, contract) and notes about the customer;
• statistics: total debt, biggest debtors, who has not paid the longest, a chart by period;
• PDF and Excel (CSV) reports, protection with a PIN code and Face ID / fingerprint;
• shop and cashiers, with a notification for every entry a cashier makes;
• work on iPhone, Android and in the browser under a single account.

In the PRO subscription:

• cash register — daily income and expenses;
• instalments (nasiya) with a payment schedule;
• products and stock with automatic balance calculation;
• barcode scanner and label printing;
• sales, invoice and delivery note in PDF, goods receipt document;
• suppliers and settlements with them;
• employees — salary, advance, settlement;
• a voice note on a debt, unlimited shops and high-quality photos.
